Meet Edwin, a lifelong enthusiast of athletic performance and martial arts, Edwinβs journey began in childhood when his father introduced him to Filipino Sikaran Arnis-Kali. Over the years, Edwin expanded his expertise to include Taekwondo, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Muay Thai. Since 2017, he has competed in both amateur and professional kickboxing and Muay Thai, securing numerous victories in tournaments and exhibitions since his teenage years. His passion for martial arts has taken him around the world, training under renowned coaches and fighters. Locally, he has been mentored by Denis Kang, Tristan Connely, and Jason Fenton, while internationally, heβs trained with the likes of Eric Kelly, Melchor Menor, and Yodsanklai.
Edwin began sharing his extensive knowledge in 2016, coaching individuals from all walks of life, including competitors, fighters, students, and mothers. In 2021, he faced a life-threatening battle with the Delta strain of COVID-19, spending two months intubated and confronting the possibility of death. Yet, it was his martial arts discipline that strengthened his mental resilience. Even during his recovery, Edwin found solace in shadowboxing at his hospital window, crediting martial arts with his survival.
He believes in the power of martial arts not only to build physical strength for self-defense but also to develop the mental fortitude needed to overcome lifeβs toughest challenges.
As Sun Tzu wisely said, "I would rather be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war," a philosophy Edwin embodies every day.
