Meet a Member | 17th Ave

RMBL Community

At Rumble, we know it’s our members who truly make the magic happen.  That’s why we want you to meet them, get to know some faces of the bad ass at the Heavy Bag next to you, or in the Personal Training session on the other side of the weight rack!

For our inaugural “Meet a Member”, we’d like to introduce you to Sydney who you’ll likely see at our 17th Avenue location in Calgary, AB.

What do you love
about RMBL?

I appreciate the motivators and trainers being so open to us. And I like getting into a dark room and just hitting something for an hour. Great way to release any frustration.

How long have you been a RMBL member?

I don't actually remember the first time I ever came to a class, but I really committed in January (2022) when I bought personal training sessions and haven't looked back.

Why did you decide to try us out?

I was trying out all different types of fitness around my condo! Also, back in Grade 10 I considered taking up kickboxing after seeing my brother get in good shape from it - but I chose rugby instead. So I've come full circle.

Heavy Bag?  Personal Training or both?

I do it all! Personal training weekly with Janna (strength) and Roxie (boxing) and I try to get to a few heavy bag classes per month.

What has RMBL taught you about yourself?

Janna has taught me how to take care of my back and about the importance of mobility before a workout. And that I can be a badass. Roxie has taught me to keep pushing even when I want to tap out. And the bags have taught me to take care of myself first and foremost.

I also love the message that Rumble preaches: to become 1% better every day. Just work that tiny bit every day for yourself. That's enough.

What are some goals for you outside of the gym?

I want to become the best leader and mentor I can for my team at work. I'm also absorbing all I can from my trainers and motivators to become a better teacher for Ballet Beats (barre fitness). And being the best aunt ever!

If you have one, what a unique story about RMBL you would like to share?

I don't think I have one! I did get my 60-year-old mom and aunt into working out again and they've gone to see Cody a few times? Probably shouldn't talk about meeting Tyler (Prok) on Hinge (years ago) and then going to his class and losing my iron ring haha!
