Meet a Member | Brenda

Rumble family!

A few weeks ago we profiled Brenda’s sister, Doris!  We love our Rumble family – especially when they are REALLY family and motivate one another to stay strong in our studios!

How long have you been a RMBL member?

Since November of 2020.   My sister recommended I have a consultation with Calvin, and I’ve been a member ever since.

Why did you decide to try us out?

I used to box and kickbox, but I got so busy that I stopped in 2017.  Knowing that my sister was a Rumble member motivated me, and I knew I wouldn’t be alone!

Heavy Bag?  Personal Training or both?

Both!  I love learning new techniques and applications from different trainers, I even participate in "light" sparring sessions from time to time.  Heavy Bag classes are just a vibe, especially when the music is fire; it's a good workout session and a dance party.  Sometimes I play with the combos by adding footwork or some slips & weaves that goes with the music, to see what other beats I can hit!  Ha ha.

What do you love about RMBL?

The people are so welcoming, especially with how shy I am, I know I can come off as distant or cold, but the staff at Rumble are always there to greet you and make your day better.

What has RMBL taught you about yourself?

That I have the ability to push myself even when life is a struggle. I also dance, and Rumble has helped with my confidence there as well.

What are some goals for you outside of the gym?

I will pay more attention to rest and recovery for sure. With training so much, I have to (and need to) learn more ways to recover and heal, so I don’t burn my body out.

What a unique story about RMBL you would like to share?

Definitely hitting on the Motivators bag when class was full. I got to experience what's it like being up there in the middle of the room with everyone staring at you as they call out the combos and hope people get it! Thank goodness I didn't have to do that, I just had to hit the bag. Thank you Jeff for letting my hit at your bag :).

Also that one time Miss Aimee asked me to do the Cuff It challenge with her, it was so much fun.  Thank you!
