Meet A Franchisee - Julie & Kurtis Strickland
We sat down with both Kurtis and Julie to learn more
about their reasons for joining the Rumble Family as franchisees.
Kurtis, like many of our Rumble Team Members, was attracted to Rumble because of what we stand for and how we make people feel. “I love the Rumble environment and it’s positivity,” Strickland stated “the elements of what the studios offer lead to overall good health and mental wellness.” Julie has been a member since we opened in 2016 and has loved what Personal Training at Rumble has added to her overall self-care.
The Strickland’s story stemmed from wanting flexibility with a young family at home “we want to support our family as best we can, but it’s hard with two ‘corporate’ people in our household. So now we are excited to do something different, and I’m privileged to have a partner who’s also willing to take the leap.” stated Kurtis. Julie’s first love will always be her Risk & Wealth Management business, and her experience in that industry will allow her to handle the numbers easily and support Kurtis in his step to entrepreneurship. We have a feeling you’ll find Julie crushing her morning coffee and reviewing the numbers, before she steps into her day at her firm.
What we love about the Strickland family and what they’re going to bring to their franchise, is their family-focused mentality. Julie and Kurtis have two children at home (ages 12 and 8) and even their son and daughter are also Rumblers; training every week at 17th Avenue with Stephen! Julie says that family-vibe will be first and foremost at their location, making everyone at home (we even heard a rumour that their Bernadoodle will be living his best life at their franchise location).
And it is no doubt the Strickland’s are set for success, Kurtis has over two decades of experience in the Canadian energy industry and he has a technology diploma, a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, and an MBA. And, as mentioned above, Julie is the Principal & Founder of her Wealth & Risk Management firm, with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance and Accounting from Queen’s University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in History.
